Vladimir Putin took part in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, timed to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union.

On May 9, 2024, Vladimir Putin will attend a military parade to mark the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.

Guests of honour at the parade will be President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith, and President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau Umaro Sissoco Embalo.

Together with Vladimir Putin, the leaders will also take part in a flower-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

In the afternoon, bilateral Russian-Cuban, Russian-Lao and Russian-Bissau-Guinean high-level talks will take place.

On May 8, 2024, an anniversary meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will be held in Moscow with the participation of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The meeting is timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union.

The meeting will be attended by the leaders of the EAEU member states: the presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan and the Prime Minister of Armenia, who will be joined by the heads of the EAEU observer states – Uzbekistan and Cuba.

The participants will review the results achieved in establishing the EAEU as a recognised and effective international association and exchange views on areas that have potential for further and deeper integration. They will also adopt several important documents.

In the evening, a traditional informal dinner will be held for the heads of the CIS delegations and the President of Cuba.

Vladimir Putin approved a list of instructions following the event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences, held on February 8, 2024.

Presidential Aide, State Council Secretary Igor Levitin and Sakhalin Region Governor Valery Limarenko co-chaired a meeting of the State Council Commission on Investment.

The meeting was attended by First Deputy Minister of Economic Development Ilya Torosov,Head of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography Oleg Skufinsky, President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin, President of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergei Katyrin, and representatives of federal and regional executive government bodies, businesses, and the expert community.

The meeting participants discussed ways of attracting investment to implement national projects and using the federal state information system – the Unified Digital Platform National Spatial Data System – for investment activities.

Igor Levitin noted that investment is an instrument of reaching the goals of practically all national projects. He suggested discussing ways of making finances more accessible for businesses and instruments for supporting large-scale projects that may become drivers for a whole group of economic sectors.

Ilya Torosov reported on the support provided by VEB.RF State Development Corporation for implementing investment projects and mentioned the planned amount of investment in these projects.

Oleg Skufinsky explained how the National Spatial Data System, which is a set of legally significant open federal, regional and municipal spatial data, might be used in making decisions on territorial planning and spatial development in the regions.

Valery Limarenko spoke about the regional experience of using spatial data systems for improving the quality of interaction with investors.

The summary materials of the Commission’s meeting may be used by federal and regional executive government bodies in charge of investment projects and administrative control.
